We are all fruits & nuts!

Looking for some inspiration to pass along something…inspirational, I had an image land in my lap (thanks Brother Fisher).  It was a spectacular tree blooming and was clearly made up of many different colors – either a “photoshop-job” or an incredible undertaking of grafting in order to achieve that result.  Supposedly it is the later…and the number quoted was 40 – 40 different fruits/nuts all living together on and in one tree.  My immediate reaction to this was, “Cool – reminds me of the Body…many members, one body.” (1Corinthians 12:12)

I then went back and reread the scripture (Romans 11:11-24) that talked about we Gentiles being grafted into the family and the reminder that God will bring together what to we as people may seem to be a rather unlikely gathering.  Nothing has changed in the past two thousand years…what He did for us through Christ was meant to bring salvation for both Jew and Gentile.  Most Jews reject this truth and God has not forgotten His people – there is still time and a place for them to come back into The Tree.

As I continued to ponder this and in looking into it deeper, I came across discussions of people (presumably all believers) that were very set in their positions on certain topics and the image that came to mind for me (taking this back to the tree) was of branches telling one another that only their particular fruit/nut (e.g. KJV only) belonged on the tree…

Branches don’t get to make these decisions – the Grafter does…and the branches owe their sustained existence to the Root.  Is it not enough to just be grateful that we can even know that we’re part of The Tree?

There has been so much recently regarding the unrest in Israel. Her destiny can and must be reversed (God’s promises don’t expire).  Israel’s return to God is certain.  His chosen people can’t forever continue in unbelief.  Paul quoting from the book of Isaiah declares with finality that “all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.  And this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins’ ” (Isaiah 59:20-21).

Can’t wait to see The Tree then!
