Grace DOES win every time

I’m always excited at this time of year. The answer? Easter. No, not the pagan holiday that was high jacked by the church that celebrated a fertility goddess…when I say Easter the overwhelming majority of the western world, at least, understands that I mean the most spectacular, most meaningful, most important event ever to happen in history…period. The resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Because of the resurrection of Jesus, death will never have any dominion over Him again (Rom 6:9; Acts 13:34). Due to this resurrection, Jesus intercedes for us in heaven before God (Rom 8:34). Jesus’ resurrection was the beginning and guarantee of our resurrection (1Cor.15:20; 2Cor. 4:14). We were raised with Jesus so that our true life is hidden now in Him (Eph. 2:6; Col. 3:1-4). Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we are born again to a living hope (1Peter 1:3).

Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we now enjoy His personal fellowship with us always (Matt. 28.20). Because of the resurrection of Jesus, He has a name above every name and every knee will bow to Him (Phil. 2:9-10). The resurrection of Jesus means that Jesus kept his word (Matt. 17:22). The resurrection of Jesus fulfilled the Scriptures and the promises of God (1Cor.15:4; Acts 13:32-33). Because Jesus was raised, He has received the promise of the Spirit and poured out the Spirit on us (Acts 2:33). Because of the resurrection, He gives repentance and forgiveness of sins (Acts 5:31). Because Jesus was raised, He is now appointed by God to judge the living and the dead (Acts 10:42;17:31). God secured our justification by raising Jesus from the dead (Rom.4:25). The risen Christ takes the place for us that the law once had so that we can bear fruit for God (Rom.7:4). Because of Jesus’ resurrection, He now has the glory for which we were made. Our ultimate destiny is to see Him as He is (1Pet.1:21; John 17:5,24).

His victory…His grace…His peace…all ours.

By its very definition grace (unmerited favor) is something that can’t be earned and isn’t something we as people deserve or are entitled to…yet we swim in it daily. I for one believe that I’m far too numb to just how wonderful a truth that is and deeply desire to have a greater awareness…as I write I pray GOD will cultivate that in me and cement His truth in me.

In spite of the wonderful list of things Jesus’ resurrection means in my life I have still had/have moments where I did think that my heavenly Daddy was very disappointed in me (that’s a theological deep dive for another blog) and then came into the picture the enemy reminding me of just what a screw up I had been and that this most recent slip had put me beyond reach.

As those accusations fly at me I hear a voice reminding me that I’m not done, nor have I drifted out of His grip…like a faucet flows Heavens grace. We’ve written on the subject of spiritual warfare and I do have a mental image now of the accuser throwing his darts of guilt, arrows of shame and in like a flood comes the blood of a RISEN Christ that washes all of it away…His grace…winning…again.
